Overview / Why Choose This Product
Philmac Flanged Ratio Valves are engineered for precise pressure control in fixed head water systems. With a fixed, non-adjustable ratio, these valves protect downstream pipework and equipment from excess pressure and water hammer. Their simple design uses only one moving part for maximum reliability, and the tamper-proof configuration ensures consistent performance. Built from corrosion-resistant materials and approved for potable water, these valves deliver confidence in critical installations.
Key Features
Fixed ratio pressure reduction – no adjustment required, tamper-proof design
High-pressure shut-off – rated to 35 bar (optional 50 bar)
Simple sealing action – one moving part for reliability
Corrosion-resistant construction – bronze body, stainless steel internals
Multi-position installation – vertical or horizontal orientation
Applications & Benefits
Applications
- Fire service water systems
- Industrial water supply
- Mining shaft water delivery
- Agricultural tanks and troughs
Benefits
Long service life – corrosion-resistant materials for harsh environments
Protects downstream equipment – prevents damage from excess pressure
Reliable performance – tamper-proof and maintenance-friendly
Technical Specifications
- Size Range: Flanged connections up to 6″
- Connection Type: Flanged inlet/outlet (Table E standard; DIN, ANSI, JIS patterns available)
- Pressure Rating: 35 bar (500 psi); optional 50 bar (725 psi)
- Material: Bronze body, 316 stainless steel seat and piston, nitrile O-rings and seals
Note: Always confirm size, pressure class, and compliance requirements against the official datasheet and local standards.
Installation Guide
- Position the valve according to the direction of flow indicated on the body.
- Insert gasket between flanges of the valve and mating pipe flange.
- Align bolt holes and loosely assemble bolts and nuts.
- Tighten bolts gradually in sequence (e.g., 1-3-6-5-4-2) to ensure even compression of the gasket.
- Pressurise and test the system for correct operation and leak-free performance.
